I am a mum of two and grandmother of one, I live and work from my home in a village just outside of Blackpool, Lancashire.
I started baking and decorating cakes from my kitchen in my spare time in 2011, just as a hobby, but as word spread, the demand started to become greater than the time I could afford. I knew I could meet the challenge and I started working on my plan to turn my kitchen into a fully functioning mini bakery. This came to fruition on 13th May 2013 when I passed my Council Hygiene Inspection with flying colours, after which I gradually expanded my fledgling business and gained experience, teaching myself new techniques and rising to new challenges, while still working at my day job as a barista in an independant coffee bar. On 6th July 2016 I worked my last shift at the coffee bar and finally took the massive step of becoming fully self employed. Since then, it's going onwards and upwards! Looking towards to the next 12 months, I'm working on a few new ideas for 2017, including one-to-one lessons on everything from cupcakes to wedding cakes, something I've been dreaming about for a few years now - I just love teaching people how to make pretty cakes, and passing on the knowledge that I've gathered over my time as a cake maker and decorator.
